Howard A Lung PE, founded HAL-PE Associates Engineering Services in 1979 as a multi-discipline engineering firm concentrating on mechanical, electrical and plumbing design.  It wasn't until 2005 that HAL-PE Associates brought on Dean Gosney as a new partner and incorporated.  Two years later the firm moved from 19th street in Covington, Kentucky to the current downtown Covington location at 823 Scott Boulevard.

In 2009, Dean Gosney returned from his second overseas military deployment and became HAL-PE Associates' majority owner.  To better prepare for HAL-PE's new classification as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), the owners decided to bring on Shane Gosney as a new managing principal and to hire several new employees to expand HAL-PE's design base.  HAL-PE Associates is now a premier design firm with the capabilities of providing not only MEP design ,but  architectural, structural engineering, and civil engineering design services as well.
